VOTE YES FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
IN SANGAMON COUNTY

The Sangamon County Mental Health Commission found major gaps in local care — including long wait times, difficulty connecting people to treatment, and rising crisis calls. On March 17, 2026, voters can approve a small sales tax increase to create a Mental Health Board and expand access to mental health and addiction services across the county.

Why This Matters

More Care, Close to Home

Local Oversight

Every Dollar Stays Here

Thousands of Sangamon County residents face untreated mental illness or substance-use disorders, often waiting weeks or months for appointments. A Mental Health Board expands local capacity and connects people to care sooner.

A Mental Health Board ensures funding decisions are made by local residents who understand Sangamon County’s needs — not state agencies or outside providers.

The 0.50% sales tax — 5¢ per $10 purchase — generates about $14.7 million a year for crisis response, case management, housing support, culturally responsive programs, and other local services.
